Description: The blocks were initially known as “hitchin’ post square” and have been a gathering place in Eugene since the 1850s. The current Park Blocks are the result of a 1959 redevelopment of the site and were designed by the Eugene architects of Wilmsen and Endicott and landscape architect Lloyd Bond. They are the site of the Eugene Saturday market and host an untitled work of art by the artist Tom Hardy (1952) and a piece titled Three Standing Forms (1959) by John Zach.
